Well Ken,

You certainly know the spots to get photos!
Never thought of trying even to get one from such a distance.

best regards
Derek

Hi Derek,

Well, as you know, I have a good mentor, it was bright and clear so I said come on lets give it a go and it worked, have to have the right conditions thought.

Kind regards
Ken

I must concur with Phil and Derek on this one. Even if you are standing on the South bank of the river at this point, which is pretty much a wilderness and unreachable without a long hike the ship would still be pretty far off. So to get a picture this decent from such a long range is very encouraging. Pushing the boundaries of what is possible again Ken!

John J.

Hi Ken,

I actually think you did a very good job with the photo. Clear and sharp enough to read the name with ease, plus good colour and light. In fact I quite like the composition too with the fields in the foreground and the church and distant trees in the background.

Hi Phil,

Many thanks for the comment, glad to know that you like it, I wasn't sure if I should post it or not.

These long range shots can be deceptive, the river, to those not familiar with it looks like a stream, in fact at that point it is, as you know, well over a mile wide.

It was a tryout that day, maybe a few more will turn up.

Kind regards
Ken
