Thanks, Dave!:-)

But I can't help thinking how much nicer the photos would have looked if the sun had been shining!

You take what you can get! And that for me at least, is usually cloudy skies!

And after you get what you want you don't want it... landlocked and cloudy skies... life can be tough!:-D

From what you have posted you have no reason to complain, cloudy or not. There is a reason I am called Shipless Dave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D :-D

Not THAT shipless, I should say, at least there are about 1600 photo-posts!
Ok, your ships tend to be a little smaller...:-D

And far, far away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Ohio River is only a 100+ miles away but I have not gotten very excited about river boats which are mostly tugs pushing barges.

I could post another 400 or so if I had the time, energy, patience, and inclination. Just too busy with work, etc.

The vantage point from which you were taking these photos is awfully nice. Elevated but not too much. I really enjoy the photos you post.

I confess that I am looking at photos on shipspotting while my students are taking a final exam. It is more fun than the alternatives.

I can understand that. If I were living on the Rhine or the Danube I wouldn't get too excited about the river boats either!
Originally I'm a cruise liner freak but at some point two or three years ago when the season ended I discovered container vessels, reefers and all the rest you can see here. Meanwhile I enjoy almost every kind of vessel.

And, not to forget, many thanks for your kind words!:-)

You're damn lucky to be able to enjoy your hobby at work. Hopefully it doesn't distracted you too much from supervising your students! I don't even have an internet connection on (?) the job.

Not only do we have a wireless connection at the college but the administration decided that we cannot do our jobs without a laptop, and a laptop no more than 4 years old. The pay is terrilble but the benefits and working conditions are great!!!!!!!

Ok, next time I come around in this world, I'll become a teacher in Ohio (and maybe the pay will have improved by then!:-D)

Hallo Jens,
