A nice little, well maintained ship that I boarded in 1994 for a pleasant chat with two of my old pals who owned it - Peter Embleton and Alan Mayer (hence PET-ALAN shipping!). Little did I know that fate would bring me face to face with these two fine sailors who I had last met in 1982! I was on the Dimitros (ex Aegis Baltic) which sailed into Durban with a cargo of paraffin, part of which was transferred to the Anina, to be shipped to Port Elizabeth. The Chief Officer was Capt Mayer's son, who I had met when he was a mere lad and when I first worked for Embleton & Mayer in 1982. The ship was obviously sold and Peter Embleton went into business with Ken Harper, another of my old mates, owning the salvage tug Toto. I wonder what happened to this nice little coaster. BTW "Anina" was named after Peter Embleton's wife :)
