FNM recover for a sailboat Portuguese cultural use of 4 suits
FNM has already begun work on rehabilitating the Santa Maria Manuela, a historic four-masted Portuguese cod that was part of the legendary 'White Fleet' that flooded the fisheries of Newfoundland in the mid-twentieth century. Legendary lugger is 63 meters long and was built in 1937, but a group of organizations led by the company Pascoal & Filhos freed him from dismantling and proposed turning it into a cultural and tourist.

It is a remarkable rebirth of SANTA MARIA MANUELA, a vessel that luckily escaped the breakers. When I saw her for the first time she was nothing but a bare hull. Now she certainly will be ready for this years sailing season.
Find the history of her rebirth and of course of her years in the White Fleet.

There are also links to her sisters CREOULA and POLYNESIA ex ARGUS (also awaiting restoration).
Regards,
Werner
