Description:

Alongside Victoria Quay Fremantle WA, 5/2/1982
Built 1968. 34048grt. One of four steam-turbine bulkers built by Whyalla SB & Eng. Co. Ltd. (BHP's own shipyard). Initially IRON HUNTER was the only owned one, but they had sister ship IRON BOGONG on charter (later purchased). The other two were DARLING RIVER and YARRA RIVER in the Australian National Line (ANL) fleet.

Was sparky onboard this vessel in 1974 & 1975. Radio callsign was VJKO.

July 1982 Iron Hunter was sold to Saudi Pride Shipping Co Ltd, Jeddah & renamed Saudi Fahad. In December 1983 she was scrapped at Kaohsiung.
