Built at Port Glasgow in 1950 as AJANA for Australind Line, but trading as the Greek owned KATE.A from 1964, as PATI she was operated by Halcoussis from mid 1968 until February 1976 when she grounded on Thunderbolt reef, South Africa, bound for Dubai with a cargo of cement originally loaded at a Black Sea port for Nigeria.

Here PATI was photographed anchored off Lagos on 4th January 1976. She had arrived off the port in October 1975 and had sailed from the anchorage on 5th February 1976 to take on bunkers and stores at Abidjan before sailing for Dubai
