She had a big fire in may 2010, nicely restored I would say. On of the last general cargo ships of Gran Colombiana the once proud Colombian shipping line, defunct since years.

yes,,that what I thought too. Usually ships that age are send to the scrap yard. But they carry "only" logs what I understand from the
TURBO area a small port on the Panamanian-Colombian border here in the Caribbean Sea. The logs a directly discharged where she is alongside in the other picture into the water and then floated up a small sidearm of the river direct to the lumber mill. The only explanation I have is that the fixing up of that ship is much cheaper than charter a vessel. For the age of this old lady, those ships were build as "lasting"ships, not like todays ships 10-15 year and they are done. The hull and the machinery are most probably like new. Not much used, at least the last years. I would not wonder if I would see that ship in another 10 years. Run down again, like before,
but still working.

incredible, that she has been repaired ecomicly at an age of 40 years, but for a shiplover of those vessel a great delight.
Would really like to see such as vessel as well.
