Description:
Panama flag old cement carrier Katerina A, bt. 1956 (!!), gt. 7289, dwt. 13295, southbound in the Bosphorus on 10.6.2005.
She started as conventional freighter in 1956 as the Greek Orpheus, transfered to a cement carrier in 1977 and renamed Nireus. Since 1999 she trades as Katerina A.
Length: 155,2 m
Width: 19,6 m
Draught: 9,25 m
For me it was a sensation to see in 2005 a ship like the old classical freighters at the age of almost 50 years.
Someone should preserve this vessel !

We can only regret that. But as you might see on the photo there was no corrosion on the hull. She was so preserved by cement for the nine year she was lying as the storage and packing vessel in Damietta, Egypt, in 1970'ies.
