I sailed on this ship in 1986 when she was the Cabo Corrientes. It was her final voyage. We were supposed to sail her from Argentina to the scrap yard in Taiwan, however, we never made it. A hole on the bottom of the ship opened up and began to fill the engine room with sea water. We had to run it aground in Madagascar to stop it from sinking. Shortly afterwards we flew home and I don't know what happened to her after that.

I remember the SVEN SALEN at the Malta Drydocks in late 60s or early 70s. she was Scandinavian registered, Norwegian or Swedish. For a tanker her lines were very graceful being built in 1958 presumably in those days in some European yard.
This picture brought back to my mind my time as a young man at Malta Drydocks.
