Description:
Calmac ferry was Known as a 'Clyde Streaker' along with her now-withdrawn sisters Juno and Jupiter (both now dismantled) , Saturn , see here , on her way to Dunoon on the Cowal Peninsula. She was the last car ferry to stop the Dunoon Service on the 29th June 2011 , after Caledonian MacBrayne have lost the vehicle part of the service but has continued with passenger-only service under Calmac's subsiduary company Argyll Ferries Ltd from 30th June. Her long 34-year career on the Clyde was now immenent. She moved down to Ardrossan as the summer supplimentary vessel on the Ardrossan-Brodick (Isle of Arran) Route , after which she was withdrawn to Rosneath , on the Gareloch after the 27th August 2011 and put into storage.
In February 2015 , it was announced that she was to be sold to Pentland Ferries Ltd to be utilised as a freight carrier up in Orkney and put into the Garvel Dry Dock for a major overhaul and conversion. Officially renamed ORCADIA in April 2015.
