Good day bob
actually not that shallow. They are extrem maneuverable, but they have one draw back according to the pilot. when they are tied to the side, like fwd shoulder, and pulling then the force of the water against the hull is almost same as the pulling force. Therefore, if pulling, they have to slack the towing line and take some distance to the ship. Otherwise most probably some of the best tugs there are,, but also,, soleily builded for inside sheltered waters. The moment you come outside, forget them

Presumably, with this unusual length/beam ratio, this tug has a very shallow draught?

I heard of this vessel or her sister exist a video on you-tube where a crewmember sits on a bicycle but does not ride himself but the tug turning in a circle under him and the bike. I saw the tug maneuver when we went alongside with her assistence, I think it could be,,they are really turning on a plate.
