Description:

Asiatic S.N. Co's 1963 Connell,Glasgow,built KOHINUR was until 1968 registered in the name of New Zealand Shipping Company, whose yellow funnel is seen in this photograph taken at Avonmouth by R.M.Parsons

Transferred to Hain Nourse in 1968, then in 1972 to P&O who in 1975 renamed her STRATHNAIRN, she was sold to Sammy Ofer in 1977, managed by Zodiac Maritime Agencies, firstly as SILVERGATE and then from 1979 as ANTILLA. She finally arrived at Kaohsiung on 22.3.86 to be broken up.

for clarification, the ship's owner was not East Asiatic, a Danish company

Asiatic S.N. was a British company which became part of the P&O Group
