Mr. DOT: FINNJET was almost 10 years older (1977). CARIBOU is from 1986, while the SMALLWOOD is from 1989. However, I do believe they were designed at about the same time. The design and building process of the two Canadaian became a rather drawn out affair (see Bruce Peter's book on the Knud E. Hansen design firm).

These were about the same vintage as the Finnjet, and I expect they will meet a similar fate on an Allung beach! mrdot.
