After an explosion in the engine room and a fire on board at June 9th 1966 in La Salina Venzuela, Al Malik Saud Al-Awal was towed to Teneriffa, Canary Island to discharging of the crude oil, which was still on board. After that, in December 1966, again she was towed and arrived Hamburg in January 1967.
