Docked at new Campbell River, BC cruise ship terminal, July 26, 2009;
one of the few cruise ships to ever dock at the $20- Million cruise ship dock at Campbell River;
Heritage Expeditions based in New Zealand will take over the former HANSEATIC, currently laid up as RCGS RESOLUTE. The small cruise liner is scheduled to sail again as from 2022 under the name HERITAGE ADVENTURER.
The 124-m long ship was built in 1991 by Finnyards in Rauma, Finland as SOCIETY EXPLORER (IMO 9000168).
After her 25-year career as HANSEATIC, the vessel was taken over by One Ocean Expeditions.
After the company’s insolvency, RCGS RESOLUTE was arrested in Buenos Aires in October 2019 and released again in March 2020.
Next, there was an incident in the Caribbean with a Venezuelan patrol boat, in which the latter sank after a collision.
In June 2020 the ship was auctioned in Curaçao. The RCGS RESOLUTE has been laid up near Piraeus since the end of October 2020.
