Description:
The flat iron collier DAME CAROLINE HASLETT 1,777-1950 seen at Woolwich off the old Siemens
Wharf in 1958 being converted to a cable ship to lay a cable between the UK & France.
The work was carried out by Siemens Bros where I worked for several years.
The ship was converted to a permanent cable layer in 1966. She was later converted to a dry cargo vessel and renamed Dame Caroline
