I know that pilots of Alexandria are a bit wierd. I remember of a situation when I know that one pilot said to the master of Sinjar (ex romania cargoship Husi) that all ships turn synchronized when they are anchored regardless of their size wind direction. The master tried to obtain a better anchoring position but the pilot insisted that the ship will remain anchored in the same position even though it was to close to another ship. During the night when turning on the anchor the Sinjar collided with an neighbour ship. I remember that the master called the port control several times to come and assist the ship when moving because it was anchored in the inner road but they didn't even answered in time.

Could make a good fish habitat in a few years.

On 16th of December 2010, our m/v "Siegedijk" was at anchor several days due to port work suspension. They were trying to tow Jolly inside of harbor but because of the strong wind she ran aground at the entrance almost on fairway, port work suspended. We entered to inner anchorage at night and some our light were on when we were passing her, pilot was very nervous and it was pretty much headache.

My friend Marius told me that small boats where taking scrap from it, probably no professionals doing the job of recicling. Yes it really looks like part of the deck had collapsed.

I don't think she is being scrapped yet. The part of the deck that is missing simply collapsed, I think. You can also see that it is missing on pics taken earlier this year.

From what I know she listed on starbord because of cargo shifting during heavy seas. She was towed to Alexandria but they couldn't save her. This is what i saw at the news...

Reminds me of the JOLLY RUBINO wrecked on the South African coast in September 2002 and later blown up by explosives.
