Description:

Seatrain Line's Seatrain Delaware sailing from Charleston. Built as the T2 type tanker Mission San Gabriel in 1944 she was converted into a container ship in 1966 and renamed Delaware, then Seatrain Delaware, reverting to Delaware in 1978. Apparently she carried railcars on deck and presumably containers underdeck so I'm not sure what category she belongs in.

No, this Seatrain class did not carry railcars, only containers.

I believe she also carried railroad cars under the deck. There was an excellent story on Seatrain in the U.S. publication Trains Magazine sometime in the past year. Interesting operation but probably bound to fail. There is still one operation carrying railroad cars from Alabama to Mexico.
