The 1962-shipyard apprentice built replica of the famous PS Comet , the first passenger 'steamboat' in Europe , which was launched as far back as 1812. Strictly speaking , this maritime heritage artefact is on show in Port Glasgow. Several events will take place in 2012 to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the first ever steam passenger ship service in Europe.
