Thanks Paul for correcting mine and others errors, the background is rather different these days, the building is long gone.

Dear Ken
The MV Rondane was built as "Kimball Harlow" under a Maritime Commission Contract, MC Hull Number 418 by the Leathem D.Smith SB & Coal Company at Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin as their Hull Number 270. Laiddown 04-01-42, Launched 09-07-42, Delivered 12-24-42 to the British Ministry of War Transport under Lend/Lease. Sold to British interest on 03-31-47, in 1949 renamed to Spruceland, 1952 resold to Norwegian interest and renamed Rondane. On 04-22-67 anchored at Beirut with propeller and rudder damage, later arrested for debt. After unsuccessfull tries to sold her and after finally six year of laying at Beirut, she began leaking due to plating corrosion, and sank in shallow water to deck level. Sold by auction, scrapping commenced locally in May 1973. A very beautiful shot of an Commission build N3-S-A1 coastal freighter of the WWII era.
