It was indeed taken there. I believe she had just exited Lock 3 downbound. There is a Halco laker entering the lock in the upper right corner.

The Welland Canal connects Lake Ontario with Lake Erie to allow ships to go around Niagara Falls. It has 8 locks and is the only waterway for salties, lakers and other types of vessels to access the other Great Lakes.
