She is in port to embark the first paying tourists to visit the Ross Sea by a ship from from Bluff 6/2/1968. She had made the first of these trips from Lyttelton, see comments,
She returned 3/3/1968 after a successful cruise which resulted in the building of the first purpose built adventure cruise ship the Lindblad Explorer in 1969.

Thanks for posting your photo. Many good memories. Just to add to your info. This expedition from Bluff was the second of the two Antarctic Tourist expeditions to the NZ subantarctic and Ross Sea Sector of Antarctic. The first of the Magga Dan expeditions left from Lyttelton, NZ on January 8 1968 and returned to Bluff where she took on the second group of tourists, and when you photographed her. The ship was chartered from Lauritzen by Holm and Company NZ, the expedition was a collaboration between John Holm (then CEO of Holm and Company, and long interested in the idea of Antarctic tourism) and Lars-Eric Lindblad (Lindblad Travel, Inc) - MMB (biologist both expeditions)
