WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
Port of Stanley, Tasmania, Australia.30/12/2011.
Stanley is the deepest port in Tasmania and was once popular with shipping but has been out of use since the early nineties until recently. Interest in using the port for the import of beef from King Island was expressed in 2008 by Greenham Tasmania, who owns a beef abattoir in Smithton.
Port of Stanley owner Tasports has been working with Greenham's to upgrade port facilities which have now been completed thus reintroducing a shipping service to the port of Stanley.
