I remember this ship as the FIJIAN and ONEHUNGA when it use to call at the Port of Onehunga on NZs Manukau Harbour in the 1980s. My Father was the Signalman for the entrance to the Harbour and we lived there for 10 years. During this time a crewman was washed overboard from the Fijian as she was entering or exiting the Harbour and drowned only to be found days later. My father still has the Life Bouy they threw to him, in his garden shed (was picked up by the Airforce Helicopter). Its amazing what conections and memories are rekindled from this website.
