The purchaser, Randy O'Brien, owner of Haida Gwaii, BC-based O'Brien & Fuerst Logging, got the Point Race and sister vessel Point Henry (formerly based at Prince Rupert, BC) for an incredible low price of $90,111.11. He plans to base the vessels as private pleasure craft on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands) and the other one in either California or Mexico for winter cruising.
