Description:

The 1962 Bartram built former ARLINGTON COURT, Turnbull Scott's SOUTHGATE from 1964 to 1969, took the name GELA in 1970 for a long term charter to TMM of Mexico. Between 1973 and 1978 she was managed by Reardon Smith but by the time this photograph was taken of GELA sailing from Liverpool on 19 May 1979, she had been sold to Seajet Shipping Ltd. of Greece - Albatross Shipping Enterprises - retaining the British flag for just a few weeks longer.

GELA was laid up at Astakos around 23rd July 1982 until sold to Palmyra Tsiris Lines in 1984 and renamed CYCLOPUS as which she traded for just two more years before arriving at Chinese breakers in July 1986.
