The ship was further away than it seems, and the pilot boat is easily able to stay out of the way, the pilot knows if I am on board to watch the pilot boat !

These types of shoots are my bonus for middle age.

It seems the pilot boat was able to get out of the way just in time although I can't see its wake. Here she seems to be bearing down on you at speed with the bridge crew not being able to see where you are.
Did that with my own boat a few times to get super angles especially of deep laden ships and naval vessels. Had a great time but I always gave my intentions to the pilot over the VHF radio prior to making these maneuvers. Otherwise I would have been reported to authorities for dangerous behavior in the vicinity of underway ships in a restricted channel. Those were the days!!!
