Gulf Shipping (Abbas Gokal) had in 1977 just purchased Blue Funnel Line's 1954 Belfast built ELPENOR when photographed in Holland, probably at Vlissingen, being renamed UNITED CONCORD. She was soon broken up at Kaohsiung, arriving there on 21st May 1979.

ELPENOR had clearly been transferred to Elder Dempster service for her last days with the Ocean Group. On the West African coast in February 1977, she sailed to the U.S.Gulf before returning to Europe.
