The ship history as listed is incorrect, which is understandable as her history is quite convoluted. Only the mid-section of the ship as shown was part of the San Francisco. That midsection was fabricated by Blohm & Voss in 1962 and mated to the 1941 bow and stern of the Esso Chattanooga by Bethlehem at Sparrows Point to create the San Francisco. In 1978 the ship was again cut apart, this time by Mitsubishi. The 1941 bow and stern were scrapped, while the 1962 B&V-built midsection was mated to a new bow and stern to create the Sea Land Adventurer. Since the original stern and propulsion machinery were scrapped a new IMO number was assigned. No part of the ship as shown was ever part of the Esso Trenton, Chicopee or Esso Chattanooga.

One of Sea-Land's "D6" class container ships. Originally operated under U.S. flag, she was subsequently re-flagged, and then continued to sail for many years under the name "Sea Adventure".
