Great series of ships DDR built and named "MERCATOR TYPE" if i remember well they were about 20 sisterships.i suppose the year of her scrap was 1997.

According to the record list of Warnowwerft, Warnemünde the WARNEMÜNDE is reported to be broken up in 1987 as DIANA B. She was built in 1972.

I did a trip around the Pacifc island on this vessel in the early nineties when we had her on charter. She was pretty run down even then.
Standing in a closed hold and looking up to the hatch was like looking at stars in the night sky, there were so many small holes in the hatch.
Does anybody know what became of her.
