In the late fifthies (1958/1959, she was try as a winter ferry between Ile aux Coudres and Saint Joseph de la Rive in order to replace the wooden ferry MONT LAURIER. As the experience proved to be succesfull, she was purchased by the Compagnie de navigation Cartier Lte and LA MARJOLAINE became the official ferry for more then a decade.
