We were anchored off New Orleans in thick fog and as it lifted out of the mist came the first LASH ship to be built, the Acadia Forest. She was completed in 1969 by Sumitomo Shipbuilding at Uraga for Norwegian owner Torrey Mosvold and chartered to New Orleans-based Central Gulf. She was broken up at Aland in 1999.
