Denis. I'm not at all sure what you mean by a "Queen Victoria rip off". The two ships are both Vista class and are therefore, essentially identical. The interior decor is different - QE is essentially Art Deco while QV harks back to Art Nouveau and is generally slightly darker. Apart from that the interior layout is pretty much the same except that, on QE, the Chart Room bar has been sacrificed to provide space for the "Britannia Club" dining room. I have cruised on QE2, QV (twice), QM2 (three times) and QE and, on 13 Sep will be onboard QV again. Of the four ships my favourite is Queen Victoria. There is much criticism on this forum and many others of the external appearance of modern cruise ships but the whole point about them is that they are designed for the comfort and enjoyment of their passengers who rarely, if ever, see the ship "from the outside". And I can assure you that, from a passenger perspective, either of the two Vistas beats the sainted QE2 hands down. I'm not mad about QM2 from the passenger point of view - she's just a little too large and impersonal for my liking.

The QUEEN VICTORIA is looking much-much more better.
Sorry for the slight uncomfortable looks of the QUEEN ELIZABETH.

Jadran - well said!

Without that tent she's just a Queen Victoria rip off.

If the "forehead" tent/canvas-stretched or whatever something that is, is not a structural part of the ship, let it be hopefully stored ashore very far from the ship, asap.

Denis - that "forehead" is actually quite a strange bit of design. It isn't a structural part of the ship at all. It's more like a kind of glorified tent - it's canvas stretched over a series of braced girders that cover the sports area which consists of a bowling green and a croquet lawn made of astroturf.

You can't beat the Firth of Clyde for wonderful background scenery. Great photo.

The only what's beautiful/classic on her is the middle part of ship around the funnel. Other than that, her forehead is a bit ugly, & the stern is unbearably boring. Queen Victoria looks so much better, not to speak about Her Majesty QM2.
