Hi Marcin,
Thank you for your comments. In answer to your question the photograph was taken from the cruise ship Vistafjord.

Thank you for this picture - very interesting for me! Was it taken from a ship, passing the main entrance?

"Władysławowo", although not in her best condition, occupies the most prominent place at the French Quay, showing flag signal VE, that means: "I am fumigating my vessel".

By the way, in early eighties, "Władysławowo" had small accident:
"Hel" class ships were equipped with KaMeWa controllable pitch propellers. These were constructed so, that blades could be set in any position from 'full ahead' to 'full astern' by means of hydraulic system, but they also had a spring, that kept the blades in 'full ahead' position, without any hydraulic action.
In the evening of 16.02.1983 the ship was preparing to departure from Antwerp.
However, the departure was being delayed and engineering watch shut off some systems - including propeller's HPU pump - for energy saving.
Pilot appeared on board shortly after midnight and in meantime the engineering watch changed. The new watch did not notice that pump was shut off and - although the propeller pitch was ordered as 'neutral'- the spring slowly set the blades to ca. '3/4 ahead'.
When the main engine was started for test and achieved some 70 rpm, the ship broke off all the mooring ropes and run away. The ride was short and ended up some 37 meters further, on transversal pier.
"Władysławowo" got only minor damage, but the rammed pier suffered pretty badly and a bollard, torn away from quay, damaged the assisting tug. Fortunately, there was no injuries.
