Thanks Clyde. The vantage point is the stub end of a former pier where many years ago (long before my time) there was a ferry service to Liverpool. The location is a popular public park, Eastham Woods, close to the locks where ships enter the Manchester Ship Canal from the River Mersey. The larger vessels require tug assistance into the locks and it's a good photo opportunity when they race past heading back to their base in Liverpool, about 8 miles away. Best wishes. Barry
