@Clive. You're right, sorry. I always mix up SONG and SAGA...

This ship should have been nicknamed Cat,it seems that it has many lives.

She burned out almost completely in 1990. She was scrapped down to the engine room and rebuilt in a completely different manner. Effectively, she is a 1992 ship with an engine room from 1980. In 1994 she had another bad accident, whe she grounded and partly sank off Finland. not the luckiest of ships.

@Michael: Clive is right, the ship in your link is Louis Cristal before the conversion.Unbelievable but yes.

@Denis: True but sad. Most modern cruisers are a bunch of balconies

Michael, that's not her former sister - that is her! That is Cristal as built....

Compared to her original design - it's great! Look at her former sister: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1421457

Actually she looks way better than these modern luxury cattle carriers with their annoying balconies - take Norwegian Epic (eww) for example - she's a ship only under the waterline.

She has a moden feeling for sure, but to tell you the truth, she looks more like a complex of apartments to me!

person
Roy, yes, she's a very nice looking ship.

person
Clive you give a sarcastic interpretation to the copliment "timless" :p

A few years back, when she sailed with NCL, she was known as 'the slug'. So yes, timeless is probably an appropriate description as I don't suppose the slug has evolved much over the last several million years.

You really like this look??I think she needed more open space...and i dont know if it's my idea but i find her too tall for her length!

person
Her look is timeless!
