Arctic Patrol Vessel P571 EJNAR MIKKELSEN, in calving ice at the bottom of Uummannaq Icefjord (70°22′20″N, 50°38′20″W).
Because of the clean air and humidity, it can be difficult to judge the distance. But there are actually more than 1 km between the ship and the ice front.
The height from the water surface to the top of the mast is about 18 meters, which gives a very good impression of the enormous scale of the glacier.
The ship is officially approved for ice class 1A.
