Description:
Vessel "D. FERNANDO II E GLORIA" built in teak wood in Goa, India, and launched in 1843, part of the Portuguese Navy fleet and in service until 1878.
It became a training vessel for the Navy during the 20th century.
A fire on board damaged it significantly in 1963, when at anchor in the Lisbon harbour.
Now totally re-built, it is seaworthy. It is still owned and managed by the Portuguese Navy, that has decided to keep her in dry dock at Cacilhas, Lisbon (South bank), and open it to the general public.
She is therefore now a Museum ship.
