PRVI FEBRUAR not PRVI FEBRAUR! Jadran, the name of this ship have nothing in common with the City day of Novi Sad!
She was named in the memory of the biggest military uprising in Austro-Hungarian history. It started on the February 1, 1918 (Prvi februar in Serbian) at A-U naval base at Boka Kotorska. I'm sure you can read this
Побуна морнара у Бококоторском заливу избила је 1. фебруара 1918. године, на бродовима „Sankt Georg“ и „Gea“. У побуни је учествовало око 6.000 ...

Jadran, could this be the event in question? (from Google)
"The edict that made Novi Sad a "free royal city" was proclaimed on 1 February 1748"

Fred,
I only now know/have found the following:
1st February is the *City Day* of city NOVI SAD, Serbia (ex YU ... ex ......).
On 1st February 1748 the city (named ??) receives its liberation from the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and is named NOVI SAD, with this name up till today.

1)
Maybe Sinisa could add more or review this issue !?
2)
This ship had its Name *1st February*; at that time was already another ship in service having Name *Novi Sad*.

Good day frtrfred,
The ship's Name had certainly something to do with a Historical date of 1st February, but I can't recall in this instance for what reason ! ... in any case, I believe, it had to do with some date related to an event in former Yugoslavia.
Kind regards/Jadran

PS: excellent composition/structure of this photo ... could not be better!

Perfect timing of the shot ... looks like the TOPS of the forward goalpost mast & aft navigation mast are "welded" to the BRIDGE ... it almost seems like the *ship's masts are holding the bridge into the sky* !

Her name is PRVI FEBRUAR and the owner was Jugoslavenska oceanska plovidba (Jugooceanija) from Kotor, ex Yugoslavia, nowadays Montenegro. PRVI FEBRUAR was scrapped in Pakistan, sometimes in 1994 or 1995.... Superb photo!
