Hi Don,
My father was an engineer on m/s Buffalo. He was most likely aboard when the photo was taken.
After he left the Merchant Marines, we would visit his friends still aboard Buffalo whenever she was in Seattle. My siblings and I would sit on a bunk eating chocolate while my dad and his friends chatted in Norwegian.
I read that her figurehead was Buffalo Bill, but it fell off in the Pacific during a storm.
She was built in 1953. Her sister ship was m/s Bonanza.
Thank you for posting the photo!

Hi Don, she is a Norwegian ship of Fred Olsen Lines, built in the 50 ies. I saw her in 1970, my first 0year of shipswatching, in the river Elbe.

Gerolf:

Thanks for the information about the BUFFALO ...
She was just a ship that had passed in the night
(well ... the afternoon) until your info ...
Thanks again ... Regards ... Don Bodron

She used to sail between Europe an US west coast, sold from Fred Olsen 1970-71.
