Thanks for putting in the effort Rick. I took the photo because my Dad worked in the UK for Regent Petroleum, a company jointly owned by Caltex and Texaco. I thought it might interest him.

I am 99.9% sure that it is the 'Rijkspont 10', owned and operated by the Rijkswaterstaat (the Dutch State Water Authority) and 100% sure that the location is the Hembrug ferry terminal on the North side of the River Ij. HERE .

After checking with other Dutch sources, it appears this particular vessel's records are an enigma, other than it was built circa 1935 by NDSM - Nederlandsche Dok Maatschappij NV, Amsterdam and is one of an identical series with the following dimensions:
160 dwt. L X B X D = 39,30m X 13,90m X 3,37m.

Several of this series remain in use today and I suspect this one is too - if only I could find it..
