Same as you I used to cross over to Gozo on this ferry during summertimes.I used to try to envisage her in her naval role as a US Navy ship during wartime,she was built in 1943 just 2 years before I was born. If I am not mistaken she also made trips to neighbouring Sicily ....those were the times, such nostalgia.!

So no IMO was ever allocated to the JYLLAND.45 years of service in war and peace in different guise, a story of from swords to ploughs.

Just got this information re the JYLLAND
Built in 1943 for US Navy as the PCE 828
In 31-7-1943 transferred to RN as HMS KILBRIDE.
In Feb.1948 sold and converted to car ferry.
1949 renamed JYLLAND
In Dec 1967 sold to E.Zmmit 7 sons,Malta for £100,000
1978 withdrawn from ferry service.
No IMO found only O.N.332318.
