As a military vessel (Portuguese Navy) one would not expect her to have an IMO number at all. Also she was taken over by the Portuguese Navy in 1961, before the unique numbering system for merchant ships started. Maritime Connector is hardly a reliable info source in a case like this.

Hi Denis, I don't know what that IMO number is!

The build year is also wrong. The ship was build on 1937, launched on 30th October 1937 and commissioned 12sd Feb 1938.

Interesting case. So turns out that IMO 8642579 belonged to her before she was acquired by Navy?

As far as I know, portuguese navy ships dont't have IMO number.

Glad I could help! It was confusing that all photos of her here are IMO-less & on Marinetraffic she appears both as with & without IMO.
