Yes it is. This scrapping process on this ship is in the early stages. No i have been to that site. But from the photo's i have seen this is a normal starting point.

Dear Atonman, This is exactly what is being done here in Gadani. I guess you've been to Gadani to see the cutting process. whenever the ship is beached the breaker cut the bow as it is an understood menu that the vessel is now out of duty and ready to break....

From the photo's i have seen they start at the bow as the photo's shows. Once the bow is dismantled they usually start cutting down the port and starboard side until they reach the stern, leaving the center section of the ship intact. Once both side of the ship have been cut away the ship is lighter and can be dragged up the beach using chains attached to the existing hull. The winch used is anchored on the beach, usually in a covered area.

How do they drag them out of the water while the scrapping progresses further to the stern? Do they use bulldozers, mules, etc?
