3/11/1943 Commissioned as HMS Premier at Tacoma
1944-1945 various Arctic Operations with other carriers.
Took part in last Russian Convoy of WW2 JW66/RA66- April/May 1945
1946 returned to USN and sold in 1947 for conversion to Merchant ship RHODESIA STAR owned by Blue Star Line
Subsequent History:
- 48 RHODESIA STAR - 67 HONGKONG KNIGHT

Chris, in my time I've seen the Fairsky but I had no idea she'd been a Bogue Class escort carrier. It is nice to see that so many found peacetime roles later in life.

Your right there David.

For 30 years they were visitors to NZ, we had CVE's and MAC's as tankers, passenger ships and cargo liners/tramps.

The final one to visit was the Fairsky in 1977.
