Thanks for all your comments .MDD stands for Malta Drydocks , I spent 43 years working there,43 years where great friendships were forged, the place were I lost friends through accidents and industrial sickness, a place of hardship because of heath,cold weather,height odours etc. but a place of work I would gladly go back to if I was be reborn.Friends and workmates you would never find anywhere else..in memory of friends and workmates departed.

Although she measured a "mere" 150,500dwt, she was one of the few large tankers in the Soviet fleet. The Soviets had no VLCC's or ULCC's. I guess they did not need them as they were (and are) a net exporter of oil and during the Soviet era they probably did not have the commercial incentive to own any VLCC's or ULCC's.
