it,s a Ro-Ro,,the upward deck is where the trucks driving in and out onto the weather deck and of course also into the hold below.
When I see it right, the containers are not on trailers but stacked by a so-called STACKER (at least that,s what we called it a big forklift who has a spreader attached to hydraulic operated telescope arm instead of forks) which picks the container off from the trucks, the truck moves out and the stacker places it in place. The other way around would be much more difficult and time consuming.

The container arrangement on the port side deck looks a bit strange. What is the reason for that ?
