My grandfather was a director of the company and I flew with him to Harland and Woolf in a flying boat for the launching when I was 16 and then sailed on her to Rotterdam to have the tanks cleaned a few years later. As one of his 8 grandchildren we each owned one share in the tanker, when the charter to Shell finished she was scrapped and I can’t remember what each share was worth but not much! Happy memories.
