It is one of my unusual ships in my collection. I have another one strange, not my photo however, of another heavy-lift ships built by joining two hulls of coasters together, the Gloria Siderum. Coasters blt in 56 and 57 respectively and welded together in 1969.

Chris, she collided with the tug "Danube VIII" in the Thames Estuary and sank. I believe that several crew lost their lives.

I meant to say earlier: It's a cracking photo!

Thank you for posting René, I remember seeing her beached at Gelliswick Bay at Milford Haven during the early 70's when delivering processing units for the new Amoco refinery.

Your right, PHIL at my age I should not rely on memory but check !

I rememeber reading something in Marine News, do you have details as to how she sank.

Remember seeing her at Auckland in early 1980's.

Not originally a dredger, Chris, but a London County Council effluents carrier - or a 'bovril boat' as they were affectionatley known.

Nice shot Rene

Originally a dredge she was sunk in a collision soon after completion, raised and rebuilt, ending up as above.

Wonderful! Another heavylifter to my collection!
She reminds of Mammoet's later ship HAPPY ROVER (now OCEAN TEAM - IMO 7528130).

This small Heavy Lift *cutie* creates me well association of the much-much more mighty HAPPY BUCCANEER (IMO 8300389) in all the means.
