The Wellington Star was one of four sister ships the others were Adelaide Star (twin screw motor like the Wellington Star) and the Auckland and Tasmania Stars both single screw steamships.At the time of building they were the largest refrigerated cargo ships in the world.They carried some general cargo but most space was reefer. Wellington Star was converted to a livestock carrier after she was sold and renamed Hawkes bay.
